The Africa Vision Tract House Society (AVTHS) was invited by The Challenge Against Malaria and AIDS in Africa (CHAMA), Canada, to participate in two medical missions to Asaga and Amangwu communities in the Ohafia Local Government Area, Abia State, Nigeria. The missions were conducted in two phases: 19–22 December 2013 and 19–24 January 2014, providing comprehensive medical care and evangelistic services to the host communities.
The Medical Missions achieved the following outcomes:
i. Over 4,000 individuals received medical attention for various ailments.
ii. 649 eyeglasses were dispensed for sight and reading.
iii. 42 general surgeries were successfully performed.
iv. 32 fibroid surgeries and 10 eye surgeries were carried out.
v. 1,101 individuals made decisions for Jesus Christ during the outreach.
We thank God for the success of these missions and appreciate the partnership of CHAMA, Canada, the dedication of all medical personnel, volunteers, and counsellors, and the cooperation of the Asaga and Amangwu communities, which ensured the smooth and impactful execution of both outreach programmes.
