The Nigeria Christian Graduate Fellowship (NCGF) and the Africa Vision Tract House Society (AVTHS), in partnership with indigenes of Ikono and Ini Local Government Areas, Akwa Ibom State, conducted a medical mission programme in the Ikono Community from 6–12 December 2015. The outreach provided comprehensive medical services, counselling, evangelism, and skills development for youths and students.
The Medical Mission achieved the following outcomes:
i. 2,082 cases were treated across general medicine and eye departments.
ii. 469 eyeglasses were dispensed for reading and sight.
iii. 111 general and eye surgeries were successfully performed.
iv. 506 laboratory tests were conducted.
v. 78 pints of blood were voluntarily donated.
vi. 755 individuals made decisions for Jesus Christ.
vii. 100 Holy Bibles in English were distributed.
viii. 100,000 gospel tracts in English, Efik, and Ibibio were distributed.
ix. Skills acquisition training for youths and students was conducted alongside the medical services.
x. A 5-day crusade was held, organised and coordinated by local churches, resulting in many lives being committed to the Lord Jesus Christ.
We thank God for the success of this mission and appreciate the contributions of local churches, volunteers, medical personnel, and the Ikono community, which ensured the smooth and impactful implementation of the programme.
