The Africa Vision Tract House Society (AVTHS), in partnership with EL-Aged Care LTD/GTE and the West African College of Surgeons, South Eastern Nigeria Medical Outreach Group, conducted a medical mission and evangelical outreach in Umuduruchukwu Village, Umuneke Ugiri, Isiala Mbano Local Government Area, Imo State, from 3 to 7 December 2017. The programme was organised to provide free medical services and minister spiritually to the community.
This outreach offered an opportunity to meet both the physical and spiritual needs of the residents while demonstrating the love of God through healthcare, counselling, and evangelism.
The Medical Mission achieved the following outcomes:
i. A total of 759 patients were registered.
ii. 957 cases were treated.
iii. 2 gynaecological surgeries were performed.
iv. A total of 440 laboratory tests were conducted.
v. 291 eyeglasses were dispensed.
vi. 7 eye surgeries were performed.
vii. 25 general surgeries were performed.
viii. 492 patients collected medications from the pharmacy.
ix. 101 ministers and volunteers participated in the mission.
x. 28 Holy Bibles were distributed to patients.
xi. 745 patients received counselling services.
xii. 421 individuals made decisions for Christ.
xiii. 22,000 gospel tracts were distributed.
xiv. Clothing, school materials, and drugs were donated to beneficiaries.
