The Africa Vision Tract House Society (AVTHS), in partnership with the Golden Lamps Christian Centre, Ikotun, conducted a one-day Medical Mission for residents of Ikotun and surrounding communities in Lagos State on Saturday, 23 December 2017. The programme, tagged “i-Medicare,” was organised to address the medical and spiritual needs of the beneficiaries. AVTHS contributed drugs, laboratory materials, and gospel tracts to the mission, and 8 members of the AVTHS mission team actively participated.
This outreach provided an opportunity to minister holistically to the community through healthcare services, counselling, and evangelism, demonstrating the love of God in practical ways.
The Medical Mission achieved the following outcomes:
i. A total of 118 patients were registered.
ii. 93 patients received counselling services.
iii. 17 individuals made decisions for Christ.
iv. A total of 225 laboratory tests were conducted.
v. 40 patients were seen at the Eye Clinic.
vi. 85 patients collected medications from the pharmacy.
vii. 43 ministers and volunteers participated in the mission.
viii. 1,000 gospel tracts were distributed to patients and the church.
