The Nigeria Christian Graduate Fellowship (NCGF) – Africa Vision Tract House Society (AVTHS), in partnership with the Association for Peace and Development Initiative (APDI), conducted a free Medical Mission for residents of Aba and neighbouring communities from 28 March to 1 April 2023.
The mission provided an opportunity to minister holistically to the community through medical services, surgeries, counselling, evangelism, and the distribution of medications and gospel materials.
The Medical Mission achieved the following outcomes:
i. A total of 690 patients were registered.
ii. 49 general and gynaecological surgeries were performed.
iii. 9 eye surgeries were conducted.
iv. 335 patients were seen by the General Medicine Department.
v. 337 laboratory tests were conducted.
vi. 467 patients were attended to by the Eye Department.
vii. 253 eyeglasses were dispensed.
viii. 435 patients collected drugs from the Pharmacy.
ix. 678 individuals received counselling services.
x. 297 people made decisions for Christ through counselling.
xi. 100 New Testament Gideon Holy Bibles were distributed to patients.
xii. 16,000 gospel tracts were distributed to patients and groups for evangelism.
