The Africa Vision Tract House Society (AVTHS) conducted a free medical and social service mission for residents of the Emede community, Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State, from 21 to 26 May 2023.
The mission provided an opportunity to minister holistically to the community through healthcare services, surgeries, counselling, evangelism, and the distribution of medications and gospel materials. Newly converted and rededicated individuals are being discipled by The Peace House Evangelists in collaboration with local pastors.
The Medical Mission achieved the following outcomes:
i. A total of 1,202 patients were registered.
ii. 29 general and gynaecological surgeries were performed.
iii. 4 eye surgeries were conducted.
iv. 987 patients were seen at the General Medical Clinic.
v. 214 patients were attended to by the Laboratory Department.
vi. 488 laboratory tests were conducted.
vii. 284 patients were seen by the Eye Department.
viii. 136 eyeglasses were dispensed.
ix. 1,097 patients collected drugs from the Pharmacy.
x. 1,077 individuals received counselling services.
xi. 512 people made decisions for Christ through counselling.
xii. 34 people were ministered to by the prayer and deliverance team.
xiii. 100 Holy Bibles were distributed to patients and mission partners.
xiv. 28,000 gospel tracts were distributed to patients and groups for evangelism.
