The Africa Vision Tract House Society (AVTHS) was invited to collaborate with Divine Power Faith Ministries International (DPFMI), Agboyi Island, to conduct a one-day Medical Mission for residents of the Agboyi Island community, Kosofe Local Government Area, Lagos State, on Saturday, 30 March 2019.
Agboyi Island is a riverine community in Lagos State with limited medical facilities, and many inhabitants are less privileged. The outreach provided much-needed comfort and care for children, women, youth, and men, demonstrating God’s love to a community that has existed for over 600 years yet remains underdeveloped compared to other cities of similar age.
The Medical Mission achieved the following outcomes:
i. A total of 390 cases were treated.
ii. 37 laboratory tests were conducted.
iii. 70 eyeglasses were dispensed.
iv. 66 individuals made decisions for Christ through counselling.
v. 20 Holy Bibles were distributed to new converts through the host Pastor.
vi. 500 gospel tracts were distributed to patients and provided for evangelism.
