The Africa Vision Tract House Society (AVTHS), in collaboration with the Christian Pharmacists Fellowship of Nigeria (CPFN), the National Fellowship of Christian Pharmacy Students (NFCPS), and Christian Broadcasting Network Africa (CBN), conducted a medical mission for residents of the Aluu–Choba community, Obio-Akpor Local Government Area, Rivers State, from 8 to 11 August 2021.
The mission provided an opportunity to minister holistically to the community by combining healthcare services, surgeries, counselling, evangelism, and the distribution of welfare materials, demonstrating the love of God in practical ways.
The Medical Mission achieved the following outcomes:
i. A total of 1,672 cases were treated.
ii. 97 cataract eye surgeries were performed.
iii. 40 general and gynaecological surgeries were conducted.
iv. A total of 592 laboratory tests were carried out.
v. 293 eyeglasses were dispensed.
vi. 360 individuals made decisions for Christ.
vii. 150 Holy Bibles were distributed to new converts.
viii. 15,000 gospel tracts were distributed to patients and churches/groups for evangelism.
